The Pinewood Derby is a thrilling competition where young racers, ages 5 to 11, design and build their own miniature cars from a block of pinewood. Using creativity and skill, participants add their unique touches to their creations, from paint jobs to custom designs. The excitement and camaraderie of the race make it a memorable experience for all involved.

Each youth is provided with a Pinewood Derby Car Kit in December and they have two months to build their car. Pack 78 also arranges a Car Cutting Clinic to assist those who may not have access to wood cutting or shaping tools.

But why should the younger youth have all the fun. Pack 78 hosts an Outlaw Pinewood Derby for those ages 11 and above. Parents, neighbors, older scouts and friends can join in the fun.
